“The Right Talent, Right Now”
Speaker: Leslie Dawson, MA, CRC, NCC
Are You Ready to hire and retain “The Right Talent, Right Now”? The Federal Department of Labor has designated October as National Disability Employment Awareness Month and has set this year’s theme as “The Right Talent, Right Now.” This is a very appropriate theme for today’s low unemployment rate and the need for skilled workers. There is no doubt that employers need the “right talent, right now!” However, many companies find themselves unprepared to hire and retain individuals with disabilities who have the “right talent” and who are available “right now.” If you find your business in this situation, then join us this month at THRP’s General Meeting to learn how to be better prepared to hire and retain “The Right Talent, Right Now.”
Leslie Dawson, State Administrator of Alabama’s Vocational Rehabilitation Business Relations Program, will present The Why, What, When and How’s of Disability Inclusion Programs. Leslie will share what companies are doing around the nation and what you can do in your company to tap into an un-tapped labor pool of individuals with disabilities. She will provide an array of options that any business, small or large, can utilize to meet their hiring and retention needs. Leslie will provide information and resources that can be used by employers to build, grow and/or maintain a Disability Inclusion program. Whether you work for a private, non-profit, Federal contractor, or state/Federal government employer, you will be able to return to your company with the knowledge and tools needed to hire and retain “the Right Talent, Right Now.”
