Our Speaker for May will be Brandi McKinney from Alabama Credit Union and she will present- When Disaster Strikes:  HR Leadership in Times of Crisis

On January 10, 2017, eleven team members at Alabama Credit Union were held hostage for three hours in a senseless robbery.  Brandi McKinney will discuss the security and disaster planning tools that HR professionals need to be able to weather similar security situations, including tips for what to do during such a crisis and afterwards.

Brandi McKinney is a ten-year veteran of HR.  A graduate of The University of Alabama, she holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology (2001) and a Master of Arts in Management (2006).  Brandi attained the Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and SHRM-Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) designations in 2014.   She currently serves as HR Director at Alabama Credit Union where she enjoys helping employees feel good about their careers, and as ad hoc HR Committee for Druid City Garden Project.  Brandi is a graduate of Leadership Tuscaloosa, and is a two-time recipient of the Credit Union National Association HR/OD Excellence Award.  When Brandi isn’t working, she enjoys vegetable gardening, going to art museums, and cooking, but mostly going on adventures with her son William (age 5), daughter Camille (age 3), and husband Bob (age withheld).
