    Leigh Oncale, Innovation and Productivity Engineer, will talk about Key Elements for Successful Continuous Improvement. She will focus on management commitment, non-blaming culture, talent retention, and respect for people in a problem solving culture. She will also introduce the Alabama Productivity Center and their services.

    Leigh is an Innovation & Productivity Engineer with the Alabama Productivity Center at the University of Alabama.   In that role, Leigh works with business and industry to provide innovative, sustainable solutions to increase productivity and profit.    Leigh’s specialties are implementing lean transformations, helping companies create innovative new products and services, teaching leadership to sustain improvement, problem- solving, and quality management systems.  Leigh is a Six Sigma Master Black Belt, a Lean Bronze Certified Sensei by SME/AME, and has taught and implemented continuous improvement methods since 1990.  Leigh is also an Innovation Engineering Black Belt with the Eureka Ranch.  

     

    Her clients include CMC Steel, Ogihara, Mercedes Benz, Flex-n-gate, Imaging Business Machines,  Summer Classics, Ameribolt,  Airbus, Toyota, Inteva, Eberspaecher NA, IWS, TW Fitting, GAF, Merichem, Integrated Medical Systems, Occupational Health Dynamics,  BLG Logistics, and Nucor Steel.

     

    Leigh received a degree in Industrial Engineering from Auburn University in 1988.    She is a member of SME, AME, AAMA, SAWF, and Saint Mark United Methodist Church.
